The Natural World is a Central Theme in My Work

The plants and creatures that I share this patch of Earth with, gardening with nature in mind, including growing food, and my hens who keep me company, all feature. My studio sits amongst the trees and is surrounded by birds. Coastal holidays and beach-finds are another huge source of inspiration. I am constantly fascinated by the beauty, complexity and patterns found in nature.

Using mediums including lino printing, watercolour, gouache, pen & ink and collage, I like to explore the intricacies of natural objects, or express the movement and colour of flowers. I want to convey the sense of wonder I experience when I am observing the subject. And my hope is to inspire the viewer to seek their own awe from nature.

“I believe in the power of creativity to inspire positive change”

I’m also a freelance illustrator and have a special interest in working with nature conservation charities and organisations, organic and eco brands and other environmental or sustainability projects.

I believe in the power of creativity to inspire positive change and I’m always happy to connect with like-minded souls, collaborating on projects that celebrate the beauty of nature and support its conservation.

In my monthly Substack - Cabin of Curiosity, I write about things that spark my curiosity; creativity, gardening, wildlife, art & design, kindness & community, awe & wonder. I share my favourite things, such as music, exhibitions, podcasts and what’s inspiring me recently. I talk about what I’m working on inside the studio and any news from outside in the garden. One feeds the other you see.
